Developed by a group of French artists and designers, Société des artistes décorateurs, it combined Egyptian art, streamlined Classicism and geometrical patterns. Mostly used for design of commercial buildings for a contemporary image, including The Empire State Building. It was seen by architects as an ephemeral style, and soon lost popularity after the second world war”
