Originating in North America, Postmodernism was a direct reaction to the

seriousness of Modernism. Looking to inject fun, irony and more visual stimuli into the industry, architects such as Robert Venturi designed colourful buildings that hinted to traditional forms. The movement went on to inspire architects such as Charles Jenks, Kenzo Tange and Charles Moore and is credited with opening the way for more radical ways of designing buildings”
